Audran’s Overture to La Mascotte

Edmond Audran’s breakthrough work was the operetta La mascotte, written in 1880 and first performed at the Theatre des Bouffes-Parisiens on December 29, 1880. This is the lively overture to the operetta.

This recording is performed by the Luxembourg Radio Orchestra; Jean-Pierre Wallez, conductor.

Mt. San Jacinto Community College Libraries are pleased to offer a history database of American song.

This database contains 50,000 tracks that allows people to hear and feel the music from America’s past. The database will include songs by and about American Indians, miners, immigrants, slaves, children, pioneers, and cowboys. Included in the database are the songs of Civil Rights, political campaigns, Prohibition, the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, anti-war protests, and more. This release includes 1,048 albums, equalling 17,940 tracks. More
